I was woken up early by a knock on my door - the contractors, of course! Luckily it was only an hour before my alarm went off, so moved the rest of my stuff out of my room while they started on Lina's room. They made pretty quick work of her furniture and carpet and before I was even making breakfast, they were ripping plaster off her wall. Soon the stench of mold filled the air and we all watched in awe as they peeled away plaster with dark mold growing to expose a wall of wet cement blocks!
It was pretty gross and smelled awful, so we scurried upstairs and shut all of the doors. They said it will take about 2 weeks to dry out, so I was pretty bummed about that. At least Michael is letting us stay upstairs while all this is going on. I just hope it'll get over with soon, so that we can get on with our lives.
I went to campus for my TSA meeting, which was short! Yipee. We are probably going to do a joint event with Wasabi to get donations for Japan sometime in April. Hiro came dressed in a traditional black yukata, funeral attire. He said he found out 2 more of his friends died, making a total of 5 of his friends that have died. Pretty crazy.
Then I headed home. I ran into the construction guys as they were leaving and they told me it's already drying out a bit, so maybe it'll be dry before too long and to just keep the fans on it. They also said the tiling should be done by the end of the week. That's good news and made me feel a little better than I did when I left. Italked to my boyfriend for a while, cooked dinner upstairs (weird to use someone else's kitchen) and worked on TSA for a bit. Now early to bed! (or maybe a movie)
