March 23

Wednesdays are my new long-day, because I have a group project meeting at 9am and am not finished with my last class until 5pm. On the way out the door, I got an email from our landlord stating that he'd like to move furniture out of our room to finally start repairing it from the mold damage. I left my room in a not good state - with underwear and clothes and stuff on my bed. But I had no time to prepare my room for the move that was apparently going to take place this afternoon! So, I sent back an email saying how it would be impossible for me to move stuff today with my school schedule. Like all emails I write, it was very straight-forward and didn't waste words on niceties (fluff). My correspondence often comes off as harsher than I intend. I tried to remove any parts that were mean and leave it as neutral as I could. But apparently that wasn't enough because halfway through the day (luckily between classes), he replied back and completely overreacted, ending with essentially "if you want to move out, you can!" I really loathe when people do that, because it seems immature to threaten a relationship so prematurely. I guess I under-estimated exactly how stressed he has been trying to deal with all of this, so my email offended him greatly. Of course, I didn't intend to do so and certainly didn't expect such a dramatic response. I chatted with Jillian and agreed on an apology email that I sent back pretty quickly to try to remedy the situation. But he didn't respond to that. I'm not sure if that means he's still mad or what. Jillian seems to think so and when we discussed it later, she made me feel horrible and that it was all my fault. Hopefully things are OK, but I'm not quite sure because Michael is pretty bad at communication, so we're left guessing...

My last class ended at 5pm and trying to get home during rush-hour is the worst. We sat on Coronation Drive for over an hour and when I finally got downtown, it was already 6:15pm. I had to wait another 30 minutes for our regularly late bus, which then sat in traffic on the way out of town... I got home around 7:30, exhausted, starving and completely depleted of all energy. I made dinner, did some school work and before I knew it, it was already late! Whew! What a day.
