Had a great week in the states, went skiing in Mammoth, saw my mom for a day, went to a couple hockey games and relaxed a bit with my wonderful boyfriend. Wish I could've stayed longer, but I had to leave in order to make it home in time for my first day of classes. Meanwhile, back here in Brissie, my roommates discovered mold growing in our rooms. It was pretty severe, so they reported to me that Michael was hiring a mold specialist to fumigate the house and also rip out all the carpet to be replaced with tile floors. The fumigation has been done, but not the re-tiling so that will happen probably sometime next week after he gets approval from the insurance company. I guess it's safe to be in our house now, just a hassle because our stuff is all over the place and it's a mess with pieces of carpet torn up. etc.

During the break, I joined an organization with the University called the Tourism Student Association. I will be taking on secretarial duties this next semester. Unfortunately, the meeting was scheduled for the day I arrived back in Brisbane. So, without further ado, I got home and showered right away. Lina was offering a ride to campus with her boyfriend, so I gladly accepted and exactly 4 hours after arriving in Brisbane, I was taking notes in a meeting. What a whirlwind! After the meeting I met with the president to go over my responsibilities as secretary. My main duties are fine, easy secretarial stuff that won't take up much time. However, I am realizing that it might be a bit more work than I intended because of the events. I am expected to go and help out at these events, many of which I already have prior commitments like my family or friends in town. Our first event is next Monday, but when I got home, I looked up my flight information and saw that I will still be in Sydney on Monday! Ack! So, I sent an email about it and felt like a total jerk because I was already flaking on a bunch of stuff. Hopefully he isn't too mad at me!

Then I came home, unpacked, did 3 loads of laundry to dry in the Brisbane heat, did some work for TSA and got organized for my school work. Relaxed by watching an encore showing of the Oscars with Jillian.
