After going to bed so late on Wednesday, it was a struggle to get up for my 10am group meeting. But I dragged myself out of bed and even made it to campus early enough to get some breakfast. My brain was mush through the meeting as I was distracted and tired, so I didn't have much value to add. My section isn't put together properly, so I'm going to have to re-write it this weekend.
Oh well, then off to our favorite class - Research Methods. The professor informed us that his teacher's pet student had brought her BABY to class and if any of us ever have any issues like this, we can email him and he will be as accommodating a possible. The baby didn't cry, but made lots of noises like it was going to start which distracted the students and even the professor who would look over and smile, frequently. Add to that the already boring lecture content, then it started raining so hard that we couldn't hear, plus it's always freezing in our classroom. THEN, to stop the baby from crying, the Tutor decided to jingle her keys at the baby. Please never bring your baby to class! The jingling of the keys was the most distracting to me. ugh Then an hour where I ate and talked to my boyfriend before my lab started. Did some lab bullshit, analyzing data for an hour and OFF of class! Whoo
I was supposed to meet Lina for Tapas downtown, but not until 6pm. Since I didn't have enough time to go all the way home before it, I hung out downtown and got measured for bridesmaids dresses. I tried to find the tailor I had looked up online, but couldn't, so I spotted a bridal store and headed there. The bridal store was closed, but across the hall from an alterations place, so I walked in and asked if they could do some measurements. They said no because they were on a deadline and asked if I could come back tomorrow. UGH. So I walked out and instead of going to the street level I ended up on another level with another bridal store. I asked them, but they said they couldn't do them either and recommended another tailor on the 3rd floor! So up to the 3rd floor I went and lo and behold it was the original one I was looking for! They were gracious about it and of course wanted to do them in case I ever had alterations business in the future! How nice. I now know that my official measurements are: 34.5, 26.5, 38.5, which makes me just slightly off from the "perfect" 36-26-36 body. I was not aware that my ass was that much bigger than my bust, but oh well. Luckily I sent my measurements to my cousin right away because the dress is going to take 10-13 weeks to deliver, which cuts it pretty close to the date I leave for Italy! Ack. Oh well.
Then I walked to Peasant at the Barracks, which is a tapas place and met with Lina, Sarah, Travis, their new classmate Caroline, and Travis's roommate. The food was excellent and prepared pretty creatively. Probably the best food I've had thus far in Brisbane.. But with the Sangria, it was expensive! The rest went to watch a movie and Lina and I headed home. I thought we were going to meet them later for Salsa, but Lina and Jillian had an assignment to finish, so I didn't want to go alone. I watched a movie instead.
